Celebrating a milestone like our 10th anniversary called for something truly special. What better way to commemorate this occasion than a snowy adventure with our beloved family and friends? Our journey to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort was not just a trip—it was an unforgettable experience filled with joy, laughter, and breathtaking winter scenery.

Our adventure started early at 8:00 AM, as we embarked on our drive toward the resort. As we cruised along the highway, we were a little disappointed to see no snow around. However, everything changed when we crossed a tunnel—suddenly, we were greeted with a magical winter wonderland! Snow-covered roads, mountains draped in white, and frost-kissed trees created an enchanting scene. It was truly mesmerizing and set the tone for an exciting day ahead.

Upon reaching Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort, we were welcomed by gentle snowfall, making the experience even more surreal. We easily found parking near the ropeway station, which cost only 500 yen per day, and eagerly prepared ourselves for the adventure ahead.

One of the most thrilling parts of our trip was the ropeway ride. As we ascended, we were captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-covered mountains. The anticipation grew as we reached the top, where we were met with a winter playground waiting to be explored.

After spending an exhilarating time in the snow, we decided to warm up with some delicious local treats. We indulged in Niigata’s famous carrot soup and hot cocoa milk, both of which were perfect for the chilly weather. Descending from the ropeway, we brought out our homemade lunch and found a dedicated relaxation room where we could comfortably sit and eat. Our lunch was a feast, featuring Khicuri (a Bengali-style rice and lentil dish), chicken curry, and dried fish curry. The kids had a great time playing with toys while the adults enjoyed their well-earned break.

After lunch, we headed to Yukiasobi Park, where the kids had an absolute blast! They went sledding, played in the snow, and enjoyed various fun activities in the designated play area. Seeing their joy and laughter made the trip even more special.

As evening approached, we started our return journey. However, nature had a final surprise for us—it started snowing heavily! Some parts of the road became foggy, making driving a bit challenging, but with careful navigation, we managed to continue smoothly.

We made one last stop at a highway parking area to enjoy some homemade snacks, cake, patties, and fresh fruits. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
